Good morning. It is, once again, a beautiful morning here West End. As I write, my 2 year old daughter, Paia, runs around with a kiddie pool over her head and trying to watch “The Little Mermaid” at the same time. These are the precious moments I enjoy with her while I take care of business over the internet. I am constantly busy with new investors, many of which are from Canada, inquiring about purchasing property as they take advantage of the excellent foreign exchange rate. I love that technology allows me to enjoy the precious time with my family. It used to run my life while in Los Angeles. No more. It is Beautiful.

Onto information: There are a few things to report regarding the forward momentum of Roatan.
RECO, our electric company, has been doing very well. The power outages are less frequent as the new owner overhauls past problems.
Through one of my contacts I understand that a Dredging unit arrives from Holland to deepen the waterway at Mahogany Bay to allow room for the new construction of the Carnival Cruise Line Dock. There is a tentative opening date for the new dock in 16 months from now.
Starting December 21st 2008, there will be a direct flight from Calgary that will go through until August. Sky Service/Conquest will be the airline that also offers a direct flight from Toronto to Roatan during the same season.  Continental will be offering a new flight starting May on a Tuesday from Houston. That will make it 5 direct flights Continental has from the US per week.
Nikki Beach Hotels recently announced the opening of a new hotel site here on Roatan, mid island. The location is one of the most desired areas to be located. Some beautiful news this morning! New generators are coming! After all the doubt and confusion about who won the bid for R.E.C.O. (if my sources are correct) Kelsey Warren definitely moving in. This is fantastic news for the island and the businesses which had to unfortunately rely on such a mismanaged service. I won't go any further into it but Jolly Good Show.
Real Estate is picking up all around the islands and I am as busy as ever. There are some new listings to be online within the next couple of days so please stay informed.
And, West End road was graded last night. Hurray

Stunning morning! Lounging at the beach this morning with my wife Harmony and daughter Paia as another Continental flight out of Houston arrives. That's now four direct flights per week.
1 on Thursday, 2 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday. Where are they all staying? My guess is that the tourists are starting to spread out and not necessarily going directly to West Bay and West End as in the past. But, either way, the tourists still make their way to West End because this is the only place for great nightlife. It's nice to see so many people enjoying the lifestyle we have. Believe it or not, I have many people tell me they would leave their world behind. I say... "It's just a choice".

What a wonderful week this has been. The weather has been stunning during the day and cool in the evenings. I am so happy that the trade winds come through for at least 9 months of the year which is one of many attributes living on this Caribbean Island.
Over the past week I have been spending a lot of my time with a group of 12 staying at the luxurious private resort called Mayoka Lodge. Canadians ! Love them. So nice. No stress. Polite and they love to enjoy life.
With the direct flight offered by "Sky Service" every Friday from Toronto, it has become very easy for Canadians to leave the cold weather behind and enjoy the sunshine on a Caribbean Island within 5 short hours.
The day they arrived, which also happened to be one of their many highlights, I brought them all down to a restaurant called Roatan Rick's where they had a very enjoyable evening listening to Live Music...Harmony, Daddio and Barb.
The following Wednesday we all decided to head on down to Sundowners Beach Bar in the West End and low-and-behold...the ice hockey game was on live from Toronto. It makes me think how fantastic technology is nowadays. And lets not forget, if you bring your cell phone with you here on vacation, it will probably work. Remeber, it's a choice.
